Caesars Virginia reached another construction milestone last week as they held a topping off ceremony to celebrate the progress that has been made on the resort project thus far and to commemorate the structure reaching its highest point. The CEO of the casino spoke and said the permanent casino and hotel is on track to be completed this year and open by the end of the year. In one interview he said around 300 days, which would place that next milestone sometime in November.
The topping off signifies the completion of the construction of the final top floor of the hotel.
As part of the ceremony a tree was placed at the top of the hotel structure. This ritual dates back to an ancient Scandinavian religious rite, with was done to appease the tree-dwelling spirits that were displaced because of construction.
Caesars Virginia will open this year and will include a twelve story hotel that includes 320 rooms and 28 suites all with floor to ceiling windows. An amazing spa that connects to a beautiful pool area, 12 restaurants and bars, 50,000 square feet of meeting and convention space as well as a 2,500 seat event center.
River City TV provided coverage of the event.
Over 15k people watched this Facebook video so far, which demonstrates a lot of interest in this construction.
